What in the Name of God

The arguments have been presented before the Supreme Court, and we have heard countless speeches, and it all comes down to this: The only rational argument against gay marriage is a religious one, and only if you believe it is rational to allow one group to impose their religious beliefs on everyone else.

Sex Crazy

Jeff regularly reports on the crazy anti-gay things many mainstream figures and organizations say, but will they say them to the Supreme Court? You betcha. This is part one of the craziest briefs to the Supreme Court arguing against same sex marriage.

Politics on Parade

The misogyny increases with Hillary Clinton officially announcing her presidential run. If you thought the Hobby Lobby decision was bad, Republican lawmakers signaled this week that it is only the tip of the iceberg, with their real agenda being about giving employers absolute control over their female employee’s sex lives. The holding of Attorney General nominee Loretta Lynch hostage, and the horrible compromise that lead to her confirmation at the expense of the most vulnerable women in the world.

What in the Name of God

Religious diversity in the United States, and what happens when one religion tries to impose its values on others. In this case, Jeff looks at a growing problem in the Jewish community, and the strong condemnation it gets even though the imposition of certain extreme Christian beliefs has made it all the way to our Supreme Court with much less uniformity of opinion.

Sex Crazy

Ted Cruz claims that gays have a religious motive to go after Christians,  Tony Perkins compares gay people with Satan and his Family Research Spokesperson claims homosexuality is caused by abuse, former Republican party chairwoman warns of Sodom and Gomorrah,  James Dobson has only his fantasies about what bisexuality is, the threat of gay abortionists, and this week’s Pat Robertson crazy.

Entertainment Spotlight

Finally, the AIDS Healthcare Foundation, which single-handedly destroyed the adult film industry in Los Angeles and put countless adult performers at increased risk, is being taken to court, and it may shed some light on their potentially shady business practices.  Yes there are sex dolls, but can you be molested by a doll?

Politics on Parade

The back and forth of wins and losses for gay rights- in Florida with both a loss and a win for gay adoption,  a big win against hiring discrimination at the Federal level, encouraging new polling,  a rather large financial loss for a taxi cab driver- a rare American male who does not enjoy watching women kiss. For women’s reproductive rights, it is mostly losses- an Alabama bill would ban abortions before many women even know they are pregnant,  Oklahoma pushes forward with bill that would require physicians to give pregnant women something to think about, and a lot of time to think about it,  Oregon leaders kill access to women’s reproductive health care services bill over abortion,  and a North Carolina bill designed to castrate one of the top OB-GYN  schools in the nation.

What in the Name of God

It will say a lot about the Pope when he officially responds to several issues- a despised controversial antagonistic Archbishop and a plea for his removal from prominent Catholics under his leadership, a crazily anti-gay and openly hostile to the Pope cardinal, and the appointment of a gay diplomat to the Vatican. The extremely dangerous use of the Dietrich Bonhoeffer comparison by far right pundits that could lead to murder and assassination.

Sex Crazy

Phil Robertson offers more insane and completely unrealistic advice to gay men and unmarried men.  Pastor Tony Green manages to offend everyone with what seems to be an attack on gays.  Bishop equates homosexuality to handicaps. Mike Huckabee gets crazier and crazier.  And the usual crazy from Pat Robertson on how gays will force you to like anal sex, whether you like it or not.
